Smooth, radiant skin is combined in one indulgent treatment combining a delicious sugar and mousse feast.
My last wax experience was at least 20 years ago and one I have not felt inclined to repeat! I was looking forward to my waxing session with Pure Skin in Ponsonby much the same way as I anticipate a visit to the dentist. Fortunately, the Pharo Salon Sugaring System is very different to traditional waxing techniques. |

IPL Breakthrough for white hair or dark skin!
Traditional hair removal has relied on the chromophore of the hair follicle to absorb the energy of the IPL or laser to destroy the hair papilla. Basically, it was reliant on colour.
White, blonde, grey and red hair reduction with IPL’s and Laser’s just wasn’t possible. Until recently...

Yes, unfortunately Waxidents do happen.
Being a Beauty Therapist myself with more than 25 years’ experience in waxing, it always makes me a little annoyed that as Beauty Therapists we’ve been conditioned to believe that waxing is a simple, easy treatment.
This mind-set is totally ridiculous and unrealistic, and NOT correct! |

What can be done about unsightly Ingrowns?
After hair removal, as the hair grows back, it can sometimes become blocked and trapped in the hair follicle turning into bumps or even infected pores. As the hair grows it can either just curl up, and look unsightly from the surface, or it can "dig" into the surrounding skin. This will cause the skin to regard it as foreign material, and it will try to push it out, hence the infection and inflammation.

Selecting the right Electrolysis needles for the Job
Like all treatments we provide our clients we want the best outcomes for our treatments and Electrolysis is no exception. For the Electrologist our probes/needles are the tools of our trade and of course one size doesn’t fit all! Needle selection is important and most Electrologists have a preference as to what they like to use.

What makes one wax therapist better than another?
Every good therapist knows the importance of performing a thorough consultation prior to her wax treatment; and she checks for any relevant contra-indications that may prevent or inhibit her from doing the treatment. |

Just two percent of the world’s population is naturally blonde.
The age old battle of removing excessive or unwanted hair leads many to seek Intense Pulsed Light treatments (IPL), however the reality is that many don’t get the results they seek.
This would suggest that perhaps there is more to simply ‘zapping’ the hairs with the right wavelength; the aim of targeting hair with broadband light devices such as IPL, is to attract heat to the hair shaft and hair bulb creating excessive heat, the aim is to destroy the function of the hair itself. |
