Inclusivity and empowerment: two social movements that are having a major impact on the beauty industry in 2018.
At The Makeup Show Chicago, James Vincent, director of education & artist relations for The Makeup Show, shared the biggest makeup trends from the red carpet, magazines, runways and everyday street style looks. What's the difference?
When I was at the doctor a few weeks back (getting antibiotics for my acute bronchitis), she commented on whether I'd like a script for my rosacea. Ahhhh, excuse me lady... Firstly, I don't have rosacea and secondly, I don't do pharmaceuticals – unless it's a dire life or death situation. But lately, after exercise I've been noticing a reddish, blushed tinge to my face. It used to disappear after a few minutes but now it's hanging around for several hours |

Salt is an essential ingredient to all living creatures on Earth.
t has a long history, where it has played a role: as currency, in religious rituals, as a preservative and for health and wellness. Many people are familiar with salt’s health uses in baths, as a saline solution, in neti pots, for gargling, and for cleaning and exfoliating the skin. |

Gritting their teeth and gripping the seat, clients often feel the same way about epilation as they do visiting the dentist.
From popping a sedative to guzzling a glass of champagne, even the calmest of customers do funny things when trying to numb the pain of hair removal. But if Mary Poppins was on the money, all it should take is a spoonful (or perhaps a strip-full) of sugar to sweeten the deal. |

It's official - Ultra Violet has been selected as Pantone's colour of the year for 2018.
Ultra Violet means beyond violet and shows in the colour spectrum as deep and bold.

Have you noticed a shift towards # faster, # better, more invasive treatments?
You would be right to observe that this also highlights that we can no longer rely only on our industry suppliers, to provide the full suite of education required of the modern day skin therapist or aesthetic practitioner. |

Learn how to introduce gemstone treatments in the spa
The use of gemstones and color plays a major role in chakra alignment. Each color has its own frequency or vibration that can help to energize, stimulate, relax, or uplift the spirit. The seven colors of nature’s rainbow are associated with the seven colors of the chakra system. If a chakra is out of balance, a colorful gemstone can be used to restore balance. |
