Soul Nourishment - H is for 'Heated' Moments
How do I keep things in perspective?
It's easy to blow things out of proportion, especially when under pressure, stressed or exhausted from rushing around.
When faced with any problem, try to look at the facts without emotion. (easy said than done I know, but just try, it's really makes a difference )
Often it's our emotional reaction to a problem that creates the most distress. Be as objective as possible and you'll think more clearly and discover solutions that emotions can mask.
When something is extremely difficult, ask yourself, "can I change anything?" If the answer is "yes" set about changing whatever you can; taking action, no matter how small, can empower you. If the answer is "No", think about how you are going to accept the situation. Giving yourself time can result in new solutions often revealing themselves.
Get enough sleep. A rested mind and body will produce creative solutions to whatever you face.
And remember the power of letting go. Churning over problems never helps, it just saps our energy.
Take the time to look at the problem from every angle before reacting.
Think 'my reaction?' is it going to improve the situation or create more drama. Really think about that first before becoming reactive.
