Forme Spa Albany – proud winners of Top Shop Health & Beauty Northern Region.
Forme Spa entered their Auckland CBD and Albany spas into the Top Shop Awards, with both spas becoming finalists and the Albany spa scooping the Award. The judges commented on how particular emphasis was placed on programmes for staff development in the judging criteria, of course alongside spa performance, marketing and design.
The Albany spa is one of the larger Forme Spas, with 8 treatment rooms including a couples suite with geisha tub, a vichy capsule and a mani-pedi suite, plus relax room and has enjoyed consistent strong growth since opening in 2007.
A strong team of dedicated therapists and management have greatly contributed to the growth of the spa, through building a loyal base of regular guests. The Albany spa also entered the Beauty Therapy Awards in 2008 and won Best New Business.
Forme Spa's amazing journey:
Originally established in Ponsonby as a tanning/beauty clinic in 1995 and named Forme Beauty Therapy, there have been many changes along the way in the journey of becoming New Zealand's number one day spa group, Forme Spa.
Owner Hady Wenham purchased the single site operation in 2002, and with a background in marketing and business she put plans in place to modernise the brand and renovate the premises. Sunbeds were removed and renovations took place to turn the clinic into more of a day spa environment. A fresh new look was given with the signature chocolate brown walls and white accents that are so well known today being created.
Since then the spa has had many renovations and updates, including the addition of an outdoor relaxation cabana. The business quickly gained momentum, and a second spa was established in a gorgeous character villa in Parnell in 2003 and rapidly exceeded expectations.
In 2004 Hady purchased the House of Aura in Remuera and Grace Beauty Therapy in Takapuna, converting them into Forme Spas with the signature look. In 2005 a sister company, Spa Solutions was established and the exclusive distribution rights for Bioelements acquired. 2007 saw the opening of a large spa in Albany, complete with hydrotherapy facilities. Mt Eden was a start-up in a high profile character building with a unique charm, which opened in 2008, followed by the first out-of-Auckland spa in Wellington CBD in 2009.
This was closely followed by the purchase of Tonique Beauty which became a second Wellington boutique spa in Ngaio and also a gorgeous character filled spa in Hamilton in 2010. The latest spa to be opened in early 2013 was in the Auckland CBD - in a gem of a historic building in the heart of the city.
Forme Spa has continued to be a pioneer in the beauty industry in New Zealand, pushing boundaries and introducing new products, services and concepts to ensure that the best possible experience is available to our clients. At the Forme Spa head office there is a full training facility where the Forme Spa College provides ongoing post graduate education to the team of professional therapists. Hady shares: "Consistency is essential for us ensuring we provide a world class service experience, every client, every time."
