Make sure that you are getting enough rest and exercise. Focus on eating nourishing, healthy food.
It's not easy feeling radiant & energetic if you're fuelling your body with low energy food.
Stop procrastinating & book yourself for that massage or facial that is long overdue!
|Start a gratitude list and write down five new things a day.
Make sure that you take a one minute a day to remind yourself of the things that is going well in your life. By reminding yourself regularly about the good things in your life, your brain will start rewiring itself to notice more good and beautiful things around you and you will stress less. Remember, "what you think about - you bring about!" Our thoughts actually become things.
Don’t Assume - Look for the Proof.
We often think we know what others are thinking. That can lead us to assume that our colleagues or friends are gossiping about us and that we are not liked. If you have a fear that someone close to you are in a bad mood because of something you said or did, find the proof before you worry. Worrying is a total waste of energy and time.
Squash the "ANTs".
In his book "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life," Dr. Daniel Amen talks about "ANTs" - Automatic Negative Thoughts.
Detach from Negative Thoughts.
You are in charge of your thoughts, therefore your thoughts can't hold any power over you. When you notice yourself having a negative thought, allow it drift pass like a little white fluffy cloud without any judgment, detach from it, witness it, and let it go. No one can make you feel angry, sad or inadequate without your permission!
Stop using Absolutes.
Thinking and speaking and in absolutes like 'always' and 'never' programs your brain into believing that every situation seem worse than it is, and that certain people are incapable of delivering. Try and avoid having expectations - about anyone else and any situation outside of yourself. The only thing we can control is our own thoughts and behaviour ABOUT everyone else and everything else.
|Love and touch your pets, friends and family more.
Looking for an instant pick-me-up, give a loved one a hug. Human touch is very necessary to our health and well-being. We all know the power of a good hug and the comfort we get from a loving pet. There was a research study done in a restaurant – a waitress was asked to touch some of her customers on the arm as she handed them their bill.
She received higher tips from the customers that she touched than from the ones she did not touch.
Step away from loneliness by increasing your social activity - and by this I don't mean Facebook! Spend time with healthy, happy people with similar interests and you will find that their positive energy will affect you in a positive way. Join a club.
Help someone or do some volunteer work.
The more positive energy we give, the more positive energy we get – especially feeling good. We all know how good it makes us feel when we have helped someone else. Volunteer your time, your resources or money.
Change your routine - use "Pattern Interrupts" to find the solution.
When you find that you are continuously worrying about something, force yourself to do something completely different. Excessive worry is never productive because it is irrational and not solution focused at all. When you find yourself in that negative state, break the pattern – go for a walk, put on some dancing music and dance to it, call a friend (and not to talk about your problems!)
Often when you take the focus away from the problem the sub-conscious mind can find the solution without being interrupted and interfered with by the conscious mind.
