An acrylic like system that provides a beautiful manicure on natural nails or tips in just a few easy steps.

This system is set to arrive in New Zealand in early May and we are just finalising the dates for the launch events which we will be hosting in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch with Caroline Morgan, Australia’s Master Educator!

We know there has been a lot of talk about dipping systems lately with many clients now searching for this service so we wanted to take the time to share with you how the Gelish Dipping System works.

What is it?
The Gelish Dip Nail System is an acrylic like system that provides a beautiful manicure on natural nails or tips in just a few easy steps. It is best described as sitting between gel and acrylic – not as soft and flexible as gel but not quite as hard as traditional acrylic. As a result, the Gelish Dip feels lighter and thinner on the nail, and isn’t prone to cracks and chipping like regular acrylic nails.

Contrary to regular acrylic systems, Gelish Dip minimises prep creating a simpler process that can be used by nail techs and beauty therapists alike. No UV lamp is necessary and the system will air-dry to a strong and high-gloss application.

So how does it work?
Your nails are lightly buffed and then a thin coat of Gelish Dip Prep is applied followed by your Gelish Dip Base Coat. The nail is then dipped into the chosen pigment powder, set with the Gelish Dip Base Coat and dipped again once or twice more until the coverage is perfect. Once the final layer of colour is on it is evened out with a buffer before applying the Gelish Activator and lastly the Gelish Dip Top Coat.

There is no UV curing at all and the entire process takes approximately 30 minutes.

How long does it last?
A set of Gelish Dip nails will last between 2-3 weeks, similar to a set of gels. Just like gels, the nails remain shiny throughout and only the slightest wear becomes visible overtime on the tips of the nails.

How is it removed?
Removal of the Gelish Dip is an easy process and it is soaked off like gel rather than buffed off like acrylic nails. The removal process takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
